We are always accepting applications for Volunteers with Georgetown County Fire EMS.  We accept applications for all Fire Stations within the county. Volunteers are accepted for all roles within the department. We completely understand not all individuals have the time or the desire to put forth the effort to train to become a certified firefighter. Because of this we accept applications to become a support services volunteer, as well as certified firefighter positions. There are many roles volunteers play.  Assist on emergency calls, Operating apparatus (driving and pump operator), assisting with Rehab on fire scenes, etc.  All volunteer positions, whether it be certified firefighter or Support Services volunteer, are on a pay per call basis. Each station within the county also have monthly meetings and monthly drills.  If you think becoming a volunteer is for you, feel free to stop by any of the stations within the county on the first and third monday of each month and pickup information, or download an application below and drop off in person or by mail to Headquarters Fire/EMS Station 10.  If you have any questions concerning volunteering within the department, contact Jesse Cooper for further information.

We also have a Jr. Firefighter program.  Jr. Firefighters can join the department at the age of 16 and begin their career in the fire service.  Although anyone under the age of 18 may not enter a burning structure, or enter the "HOT" zone on an emergency scene, you may gain the experience and knowledge by being part of a Fire Department.  Anyone between the age of 16-18 years of age interested in becoming a volunteer is encouraged to fill out an application and submit it in person or by mail to Headquarters Station 10, or stop by any of our fire stations within the county to pick up an application.
